the scale-model of Oudenaarde

 

 


The showpiece of the exhibition is the scale-model of Oudenaarde, made in 1747 and based on the plans of the military engineer Vauban.  This scale-model is the property of the French state and returns to Oudenaarde for this one time.  3D-presentations of the scale-model are shown and a digital reconstruction of the landscape enables the visitor to relive the battle phase by phase
